February 4 marked a landmark date for Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT) – two years since its foundation. This event was not just the opportunity to recall the successes and achievements of the outgoing year 2023, but also the platform for presenting current and planned projects of the university.

The morning in the lobby of the Hilton Samarkand Regency hall was enlivened by visitors who gathered to discuss the latest news in the world of education. SIUT students warmly welcomed the honored guests at the entrance, thereby emphasizing the prestige and academic spirit of the event.

The celebration began with the screening of a video that summed up the results of the year marked by significant development of the university. We’ll recall that in 2023, 200 students, including 20 scholarship holders of state grants, began studying in various bachelor's programs. Nominal grants from the chairman of the SIUT Board of Trustees Bakhtiyor Fazylov were awarded to 68 talented students and students needing support. The University has concluded more than 30 agreements and memoranda with the leading foreign educational and scientific centers and enterprises. The SIUT student team, being the youngest among the participants, successfully performed in the final stage of the International Olympiad in Moscow. In 2023, the construction of new university campus for 1,200 students was also actively underway.

The rector of the University, Yusuf Abdullaev, took the stage to emphasize the role of SIUT in training world-class specialists who guarantee the progress of the New Uzbekistan.

T.V. Smirnov, CEO of the SEG ENERA Group, presented the message from Bakhtiyor Fazylov, having emphasized the strategic importance of the university in the international arena. The award ceremony of the employees was the recognition of their personal contribution to the success of the university.

The holiday was enriched by video greetings from SIUT's international partners, focusing on global integration and cooperation. Professor Joseph Stark shared his thoughts on the future of education and science, after which the event was decorated with live music, dancing and poetry.

By the end of 2023, SIUT took the second place in the National Database of Scientific Research of Uzbekistan according to Scienceweb, confirming the university's commitment to the leadership in the field of knowledge and research.
