Zero Accident Concept: Standard working practices of organizations and the role of trade unions

In early October 2021, a workshop was held at the Uzbekistan GTL project dedicated to the World Day for Decent Work, organized by the Trade Union Organization of Enter Engineering Group of Companies, on the subject of "Zero Accident Concept: standard working practices of organizations and the role of trade unions". The participants were representatives in the field of occupational health and safety , as well as managers and lead specialists, particularly: L.L. Sharipov, HSE Manager of Enter Engineering, O.I. Ismailov, Head of International Relations Department of the Republican Council of Trade Union of employees in Energy, Oil, Gas and Geology sector, M.Sh. Ashurov, Lead specialist of HSE and Road traffic safety department of Uzbekistan GTL Project.

The aim of the workshop was to develop ways of improving the corporate occupational safety system. The issues related to compliance with legislation and public supervision of occupational health and safety, prevention and avoidance of injuries at workplace were discussed in the course of the workshop, and recommendations for their enhancement were elaborated," said Kenjayev Bobir Olimovich, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of "Enter Engineering".

Other relevant topics were also addressed in the course of the workshop, such as "General overview of Occupational health and safety legislation. Risks and accidents at production facilities. Certification of workplaces", "New approaches of Occupational health and safety management systems in organizations", "Trade union strategy for a just/fair transition to an environmentally sustainable economy through creation of green jobs", "Zero accident concept". Building a "culture of safety" at the workplace, "Roundtable for streamlining the health and safety inspectors' means and methods of work"
